Meet Mary Horlander

​Mary is what she likes to call an "empathetic creator."

Her goal is to produce content that cultivates empathy, explores the human experience, and raises important discussions and reflection. Mary's main area of interest is film and television, but her portfolio includes a vast array of media.

Currently an undergraduate student at the University of Mary, Mary is expected to graduate in April 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in communication with a media production concentration and an art minor. Her experience includes directing multi-camera livestreams, filming, editing, and producing web content, wedding and sports filming, and designing for and managing social media. Mary also directed the short film Line 'Em Up, which was accepted into the 2022 Lift-Off Global Network First-Time Filmmakers Showcase.

She is currently creating a documentary, Eye of the Beholder, about the world of art for the visually impaired, and is working on a capstone project centered around the pre-production of an adolescent television show. Mary is looking forward to interning in the spring and learning more about the video production process.
